We got together with Clara Sedky from Baldasso Cortese to look back on the Club Jubilee One project, where Metz was tasked with supplying the tiles and offering specialist advice to the architect during the specification process.

Club Jubilee One, Wyndham Vale for Lotus Living is Australia’s first exclusive residents-only aquatic leisure and gym centre for the community residents of the Jubilee Estate, and the first of its kind in Australia.

The total floor area is approximately 3,000m2 with the pool hall of the building approximately 1,750m2.

THE NEW LOOK METZ

Various incarnations of our original black and yellow logo have been in use over the decades.

After 68 years of trading, we have decided to conduct our first complete rebrand across every business and division of Metz. So, why the change?

Today the Metz group of companies will be united under one logo, to illustrate the complete experience available to the consumer, from manufacture to installation, as well as exports.

Unlike the vast majority of tile importers in Australia Metz only import ceramic tiles from Europe – predominantly from Italy and Germany.

All our supplier factories are continuing production as normal, with now well established Covid protocols in place.

The blockage of the Suez Canal has now been cleared and so the direct delay caused will impact only a handful of Metz orders currently in transit.

The general disruption to world shipping caused by Covid-19 does remain, so in general shipments from most destinations are taking slightly longer than pre-Covid. Our advice to client remains to allow shipping to take 1-2 weeks longer than usual for the foreseeable future.

Metz has extensive quality European tile stocks already in Australia. We are well stocked for specialty slip resistant and architectural tiles, however if you have potential projects it would be prudent to talk to your local Metz representative as soon as possible to secure stocks.

Thanks again to all for your ongoing support of Metz over what continues to be trying times.

Shipping from Europe has been delayed by the blockage of the Suez Canal. The extent of delays will not become clear until the vessel is freed – but at this stage realistically a min 2 week delay is expected.

Metz only import ceramic tiles from Europe – predominantly Italy and Germany.

All our supplier factories are producing as normal, with Covid protocols in place.

Shipping of containers is relatively normal with the odd seasonal delay over the past few weeks.  In general there is a world-wide shortage of shipping containers as the usual flow of these has dramatically changed over the last 6 months or so. This has in conjunction altered some sailing schedules, destination ports and routes as the shipping lines “tinker” with altering demand.

Metz recommendation to clients is to allow a minimum of 1 – 2 weeks extra over normal supply times and an allowance of 3 – 4 weeks extra over is prudent.

The message is still that Metz has extensive stocks already in Australia, which we have increased over recent months.

Thanks to all for your ongoing support of Metz over what has been a testing and difficult year.

We take this opportunity to wish the very best to all of you, your families and your businesses for 2021

Metz only import ceramic tiles from Europe – predominantly Italy and Germany.

Italian tile manufacturers are manufacturing again. There was a backlog of orders however this is rapidly decreasing.

German pool and kitchen tile production remains unaffected.

Our recommendation to clients is to allow a minimum of 2 weeks extra over normal supply times and an allowance of 4 weeks extra over is prudent.

The message is still that Metz has extensive stocks already in Australia (still around 110,000mof quality European tiles) and a significant number of containers on the water today heading for our Perth and Sydney warehouses.

Thanks to all for your ongoing support of Metz in these extremely difficult times.
